Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Field Service Engineer with a specialisation in drives to support our clients’ customers across the UK. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of production lines by providing expert maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for production line drive systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and industries while contributing to the success of our cutting-edge automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct on-site visits to client facilities to perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of drive systems on production lines
Collaborate closely with clients to understand their specific requirements and provide tailored solutions to optimise drive performance
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to drive systems, including but not limited to variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo drives, and other motor control systems
Perform preventative maintenance activities to minimise downtime and ensure the reliability of drive systems
Provide comprehensive technical support and training to client personnel on the operation and maintenance of drive systems
Document all service activities, including troubleshooting steps, repairs performed, and recommendations for future improvements
Stay updated on the latest developments in drive technology and automation trends to continuously enhance expertise and service offerings
Requirements:
Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer with a focus on drive systems, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
In-depth knowledge of drive technologies, including VFDs, servo drives, motor control systems, and associated software
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and internal teams
Willingness to travel extensively within the UK and occasionally internationally, as required
Valid driver's license and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, when necessary
