Position: 111 Call Handler
Hourly Rate: Pre 12 week - Weekdays £11.44 per hour, Evenings and Saturdays £15.44 per hour, Sundays and Bank Holidays £19.33 per hour
Shift Times: 24- or 30-hour working week, working on AM or PM rotation
We are seeking a dedicated 111 Call Handler to join a dynamic team. As a Health Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for communication with patients, patients' relatives, healthcare professionals, and other callers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise effectively between callers and third parties in critical situations
- Remain focused on service delivery while handling an unpredictable, diverse, and challenging workload
- To deliver high quality, safe and clinically effective health care over the telephone using clinical decision system NHS Pathways
- To use advanced listening, probing and facilitative skills across a wide range of calls, some of which can be highly challenging due to emotive circumstances or caller aggression
Qualifications and Skills:
- Effective communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills
- IT literate with the ability to navigate computer systems efficiently
- Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations with composure
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English, or equivalent qualification
- Completion of NHS Pathways training is a plus
- Prior experience in customer service or healthcare is advantageous
