JOB DESCRIPTION
886 bed Level I trauma center
Three 13s or 7on/7off 13 hour shifts Days/Nights, Weekends, Holidays, On Call, Call back per unit needs
* Drug screen and physical must be done at URMC facility
* Travel reimbursement
* Exciting opportunity to work in the NeuromedicalICU.
* Responsibilities include direct care for patients undergoing neurosurgical procedures as well as medical neurology patients.
* Direct care responsibilities include admission work-ups, daily management (including complex ventilator management, central lines, arterial lines, and transfer/discharge).
* Other responsibilities include student precepting, and support of unit-based nurses.
* Applicant must be motivated, flexible, and independent and possess excellent clinical skills in critical care.
* The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
QUALIFICATIONS
* BLS and ACLS
* National Institutes of Health (NIH)
* Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
* The ability to stand for extended periods.
* Strong technical skills.
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Passionate about patient care
* Requires a minimum of two years of current Nurse Practitioner Neuro ICU experience.
* Graduate from a fully accredited Nurse Practitioner program
* Active unencumbered New York Nurse Practitioner state license
* Acute Care NP certified or NCCPA certified.
* Minimum of 2 years critical care experience.
* Neurosurgical or Neurology experience is highly preferred
REQUIREMENTS
COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.
