Salary: £32,000 (OTE £40,000 due to quarterly targeted bonuses per annum. Company car provided for this role.

On behalf of our client, an exciting new opportunity for a Sales professional. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a team working on a variety of projects which will allow them to develop personally and professionally.

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Sales Development Officer will develop, execute and oversee a business strategy that prioritises growth across the Owner Occupied and Private Rented domestic sector, by leading a team of field based Domestic Sales Energy Advisors in promoting the installation and use of gas across the license areas.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the Head of Business Development to implement a sales strategy to achieve company sales objectives.

• Monitor and report on individual and team sales targets and performance and produce sales forecasts to inform sales strategies and to ensure that corporate goals are achieved.

• Identify and complete appropriate sales training and review the activities and resources of the sales team to ensure they are appropriately equipped to carry out all sales activities and achieve predetermined new connections targets.

• Coordinate with the Business Development Manager on sales action plans and lead generation through a series of targeted activities to unconnected properties in the Phoenix License areas.

• Maintain a positive, professional relationship with key stakeholders and identify additional opportunities to support wider company messaging.

• Develop and maintain a suite of field based outreach activities in order to promote energy efficiency messaging through the utilisation of company assets such as The Energy Advice Hub to support engagement activity and increase brand awareness. This should be done by identifying likeminded organisations and reviewing potential partnerships that support business objectives.

• Support network growth by implementing a communication strategy to households situated on unadopted roads/streets to obtain permission to lay suitable gas infrastructure.

• Identify opportunities for network growth through a targeted approach to engagement with residents in non-adopted areas across the PE license areas to obtain permission to lay suitable gas infrastructure for future utilisation.

• Identify and liaise with sites of multiple occupancy that are currently fuelled by LPG and promote the conversion to natural gas.

• Provide ongoing training and feedback to sales staff to maximise performance and ensure compliance.

• Evaluate, identify and report on market opportunities to the Business Development Manager and others within the business.

• Promote and sell PE products and services and build the reputation of PE as a quality supplier of energy and services.

• To assist the Head of Business Development in ensuring all sales related activities are completed in line with Company policies and procedures.

You will need:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a field sales environment.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience leading a sales team.

• Full valid driving licence

• Flexibility with working hours as the successful candidate will be required to carry out activities most suitable to the business and customers e.g. evenings.

• Positive, enthusiastic and industrious approach to the role.

• Self-motivated.

• Excellent communication, negotiation and persuasive skills.

• Proficient IT skills to include the use of Microsoft programmes such as Word, Excl and Outlook.

• Strong administration skills.
